Welcome to the Coast Mountain Academy Alumni Directory (the "Platform"). These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Platform. By registering an account, accessing, or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Platform.
This Platform is operated by Coast Mountain Academy ("we," "us," or "our"), located in Squamish, British Columbia. By using this Platform, you agree that these Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and us. These Terms, and any disputes arising out of or related to them, shall be governed exclusively by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles. You attorn to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of British Columbia located in Vancouver or the appropriate registry for Squamish.
The Platform is intended exclusively for verified alumni, graduating students, faculty, and authorized staff of Coast Mountain Academy. By creating a profile, you represent and warrant that:
We reserve the right to review, suspend, or terminate accounts that we determine, in our sole discretion, do not meet these eligibility requirements.
To access the directory, you must create and configure an account via our onboarding process. You are strictly responsible for safeguarding your login credentials (including your password) and for all activities that occur under your account.
You agree to promptly notify us if you suspect any unauthorized access to or use of your account. We will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to protect your login credentials. You may not share your account or transfer it to any other individual.
Your privacy is important to us. Information collected through your use of the Platform, including your name, contact details, profile picture, post-graduation experiences, and social handles, is governed by our separate Privacy Policy. The Privacy Policy complies with the British Columbia Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and details how we collect, use, and disclose your personal data. By agreeing to these Terms, you acknowledge that you have read and understood our Privacy Policy.
The Platform allows you to post content, including but not limited to text, photographs, employment history, and links to external social media networks ("User Content").
The Alumni Directory is a tool for professional networking, community building, and mentorship. You agree that you will not use the Platform to:
Any violation of this Code of Conduct may result in immediate suspension or permanent termination of your account, at our sole discretion.
All rights, title, and interest in and to the Platform (excluding User Content), including the underlying software, layout, design, school logos, and text, are and will remain the exclusive property of Coast Mountain Academy and its licensors. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of our Platform, nor may you reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code of the software.
The Platform contains links to third-party websites and social media networks (e.g., LinkedIn, Instagram, Discord) provided by other users. We do not endorse, monitor, or have any control over these external websites. Your use of third-party websites is at your own risk and subject to the terms and conditions of those respective sites.
THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY BRITISH COLUMBIA LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE PLATFORM WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, NOR DO WE GUARANTEE THE ACCURACY OR RELIABILITY OF ANY USER CONTENT (INCLUDING ALUMNI PROFILES OR EXPERIENCES) FOUND ON THE PLATFORM.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL COAST MOUNTAIN ACADEMY, ITS DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, PARTNERS, OR AGENTS, BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM (A) YOUR ACCESS TO OR USE OF OR INABILITY TO ACCESS OR USE THE PLATFORM; (B) ANY CONDUCT OR CONTENT OF ANY THIRD PARTY ON THE PLATFORM; OR (C) UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS, USE, OR ALTERATION OF YOUR TRANSMISSIONS OR CONTENT.
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Coast Mountain Academy and its affiliates, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, expenses, or fees (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to your violation of these Terms or your use of the Platform, including, but not limited to, your User Content.
We may terminate or suspend your account and bar access to the Platform immediately, without prior notice or liability, under our sole discretion, for any reason whatsoever and without limitation, including but not limited to a breach of the Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Platform will cease immediately. If you wish to terminate your account, you may simply discontinue using the Platform or contact administrators to have your profile data removed.
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will provide at least 30 days' notice prior to any new terms taking effect via a notification on the Platform or to your registered email address. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion. By continuing to access or use our Platform after any revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms.
